For al of you who have e-book versions of my work – it is always worth going to your kindle page on Amazon – then check “My Kindle books”
This will list all your books and show all those that have been updated by the author – you will lose any bookmarks but you will get the latest version of the book for free.

Sailing East may be not in a new version as there were only 86 corrections made since publishing and a lot of those were minor things like a missing s or ed
On The Rocks has a new version last time I checked – 254 corrections….

Not sure about the others but it is worth checking – not just for my books but books by other authors – I have a lot of Chris Nuttall’s stuff and he has heaps of updated versions out.

Taking Off is getting closer as is On The Rocks in audio…..

Still no main storyline for book 7 sorry… so the next book to be published after Taking Off will be The Princess and the Privateer. Probably the first week of July….

Storyline for #7: how about the Hunnic challenge? Arturo now only a decade or so from their arrival in Europe—just time enough to get rest of old Roman Empire up to Britain’s level in 419! Struggle also draws Republic E into Asia following New World expeditions the other way maybe?

I could write endless tales of conquest as the invincible Roman armies conquer the world but it gets a bit repetitious….

Arturo and the entire Roman empire deserves a break! 😀 Granted only interesting times are worth a novel worth of story, it would be fun to catch up with various characters for peacetime glimpses (like snippets or short stories). And given how advance shipping is, I do wonder about adventures in exploration to American/Australia/Asia (Japen, China, etc).

  2. On of the problems is gaining a proper understanding of Indian and Chinese cultures – even North and South American ones – South African ones even – I kind of think the cape was still largely populated by those people with the strange language (Bantu maybe) but that just highlights my point. Not that such things are insurmountable – at least for a novel – but I don;t want to do a series of more books where the Romans go here and conquer – Romans go there and conquer…etc
A book 7 and even maybe a Book 8 will happen eventually I just need my muse to go “Eureka!”
    🙂

It uncertain when it pertains to South Africa as this was the height of the Bantu expansion. The people you were thinking about if you are referring to clicking language? would be the Khoisan. As for the time period is almost more action-packed in East -Asia at around 400- AD. You have the Jin consolidation of Han lands, you have the wars between the Manchurian tribes and the golden age of Goguyero under Gwanggaeto and Jangsu. This time period is truly rich in terms of History.

  4. Aetius was born in 391 – so was about 26 or so when Honorius fled Ravenna. He had been at the Hunnic court till end of the reign of the previous king which is just before books.4/5 and may well have been with Honorius on the the ill-fated Aegean cruise….
in our history he entered the service of Joannes in 423/424 and was sent to the Huns to raise an army so had been back in Roman territory for an unknown period of time at that point.
Although I have just had a better idea…. hmmmmm
What little bits I have done for Book 7 include a Roman General some years down the track… hmmm
    Thank you
