The next book up is Kyron the Mercenary which should done some time in November – hopefully. It is still too early to put a date on it I’m afraid.
After that will be The Princess and the Travelers where the Princess is sent to investigate the strange derelict ship mentioned in the 3rd book – is it from another human civilization or is it an alien vessel?
Taroniah at Peace will follow and then Kyron the Mercenary after which…? Probably The New Federation which is pure space opera – big battles, aliens, the whole bit. And no, that is not Arturo’s Federation nor anyone else’s for that matter. At least not so far…
The 1st book of yours I noticed is the Taroniah series. I wish you had named her something I can pronounce. I just call her Tranya like the drink Clint Howard liked in Star Trek. I have really enjoyed the series so far, and look forward to reading more of your work. But the excerpts from the cyborg story make it sound bleak and unpleasant. Now stop reading this and keep writing!

The cyborg story is written in Pam Uphoff’s Wine of the Gods universe – which is one of my favorite literary universes….. the Troyetsky Soyuz (aah I can never remember how to spell it) or the Triple Alliance are a Big Bad – but they;re coming apart at the seems after one of the world’s attacked the Empire of the One who retaliated using two weapons – one is a spell potion that reverts the mutated genes the Alliance Mentalists get their magic powers, sorry Mentalist powers – back to their original harmless state and the other is the Wine of the Gods which is from Comet Fall where the God of War and the God of Health (both also genetically modified and very powerful people who suffered brain damage and became affected by their planet’s group subconcious and made into “gods”. They became concerned with the small number of magic users left what with comets falling on the planet and wars and one day got drunk and came up with a potion that had every healing spell they could think of in it – the Goddess added a bunch of spells to promote fertility (including rapid repair of broken parts and it also chooses the most magically powerful genes and any woman drinking it and having sex will get pregnant (twins and even triplets being common) -plus an aphrodesiac that has to be experienced to appreciate (from the God of War) and among many other attributes the potion is a von nuemanns – running on sulphur and alcohol and will keep for year in red wine – just drop will turn a bottle of red into a bottle of potion
The combination of healing spell also combine to dissolve the zivvy – the living wires that the control chips every Alliance person apart from the Mentalists have in heads have. Prolonged use will dissolve the chip and the cyborg parts……. arms and eyes may regrow especially if a strong Magic user (sorry Mentalist) uses spells (sorry Impressions) to encourage the re-growth.
Comet Fall are the main subjects of the main story arc – through to Embassy when the emphasis moves somewhat to the Empire of the One or the One world – the Directorate sub-series follows the careers of two (arguably 3) young people going to the Directorate School (university level college) and their early careers int he External Directorate of the One World – the late books have an arc focusing on Ice – a key One Worlder who leads the defense against the Alliance attack and then their counterattack with the “Plague” and the “orgy drug) see above descriptions of gene editors and Wine of the Gods
My story is set in the final days of the Alliance and reflects the panic being caused by the “Plague!!!!” and the “orgy drug” and yes the Alliance overall is the ultimate bleak authoritarian state that also has some very interesting characters and even some likable ones.
IGOR!!!
The entire series is highly recommended by me as being very entertaining – good escapism!
